How LITIX was born
LITIX was born from the desire of the founding partners to merge ROBOTOR (a company that designs and assembles anthropomorphic robots for multi-axis milling) and TORART (a company that creates sculptures, contemporary art, and design works) into a single entity.
The two brands, ROBOTOR and TORART, established with a market presence of 20 years (TORART) and over 4 years (ROBOTOR), remain assets of the new company.
The Birth of AIVOX
AIVOX, a company controlled by LITIX, was established in July 2023 from the intersection of design, software, and production to support the development of LITIX, expanding its application opportunities beyond stone, and to enter the innovation market by helping organizations design and produce more intelligently and quickly.
Chronology
2004
The Birth of TORART
Filippo Tincolini founded TORART in Carrara, the homeland of marble. The company is dedicated to sculpture, contemporary art, and design, blending traditional methods with the most advanced technologies.
2006
Sensing the great opportunities that robotics could bring to sculpture, the first robot was installed.
2008
Zaha Hadid, a world-renowned architect and designer, was the first artist to recognize the value of the work done at TORART. This led to the creation of the iconic Aqua table with its enigmatic shape.
2010
As orders increased, there was a growing need to be more organized and professional to meet the demands from around the world. TORART transformed into an LLC with the entry of Giacomo Massari.
Barry X Ball, an American artist and pioneer of robotics applied to sculpture, reinterpreted great Italian works from antiquity to the early 1900s and entrusted their creation to TORART, which ensured quality and reliability. Thus, "Invidia" and "Purezza" were born.
2011
Increasingly complex requests and a desire for continuous improvement led to the development of the prototype ONE L, the first robot designed for sculpture.
2012
More and more artists turned to TORART to create their marble works, leading to significant international collaborations.
2016
The scale (1:3) replica of the Arch of Palmyra, destroyed by ISIS in 2015, was considered by the New York Times as one of the most emblematic works of 2016. The reconstruction was made possible thanks to the technology provided by TORART to Harvard University, Oxford University, and Dubai Future Foundation.
2017
OR-OS (Beta version) began using the Beta version of OR-OS, a self-programming software designed to simplify robot programming.
Jeff Koons, an icon of the neo-pop style and one of the wealthiest artists in the world, found inspiration in marble. He turned to TORART to start an ambitious project of statues that challenge all the laws of gravity.
2018/2019
ONE XL (2018), the natural evolution of ONE L, is a powerful robot capable of working on extreme pieces in terms of size and weight. There are no limits to creating stone works.
ROBOTOR SRL (2019) was born, a company designed to make available to everyone the technology developed over the years by TORART.
2020/2021
KUKA System Partner and AUTODESK machine maker are prestigious partnerships (2020) that reward the development work carried out by TORART over the years and allow ROBOTOR to plan international growth.
With the new ROBOTOR headquarters (2021) within "MARMI CARRARA," one of the largest marble companies in the world, the contract for the production and distribution of robots worldwide also began.
2022/2023
ROBOTOR robots, in M, L, and XL versions, were marketed with the final version of OR-OS, integrated with OR-Interface for real-time milling control and OR-Safe Control, which supervises the robot and component status in real time. The result: ROBOTOR robots work 24/7!
2023
July 2023, strategic partnership with AIVOX (60% LITIX), a strategic investment in the research and development of new materials, products, and processes to expand the range of industrial applications of robots.
September 2023, started the process of listing on the Stock Exchange and merger by incorporation with a name change to LITIX.
2024
Listing on the Italian Stock Exchange.
